Closeness

To God we become close, for God we walk the extra mile.  Our eyes fall upon His love, watching as the sun slips into the sky.  The pink hues warms our soul as we reminisce of love once know, love experienced in peace.  As the hues settle into the sky, the cold night air chills the body and we go in search of shelter.  The warmth of a blanket, the crackle of a fire but neither are in reach.  There, under the stars, we wish for the warmth of the day to settle over our being.  Alas, we begin to walk and the body begins to warm, the moon illuminates our path the while the stars give us direction.  Onward we walk, in search of nothing yet in search of everything.  The compass of faith points in the direction of the Father.  At times, the trek is slow, then other times, we race toward of destination.  The Father never far, though we act as though He is light years away.  As the sun rises in the sky, we notice that all of the walking lead has us back to our initial start.  No matter, the sun is warm against our skin and our heart filled with hope, saturated with love as the night prior, we journeyed with the Father.  In the light we better see His presence and so we extend our arms in gratitude, we offer our thoughts to the Father in return for guidance along the way.  It is with the falling of the rain that we experience a wholeness of self; huddled not in a corner, not under an umbrella but embracing the soaking of the rain.  Nature taking care of itself just as the Father takes care of His children.  The peace in the moment, the love in the moment, the fullness of the moment is God settling our soul from the worries, from the chaos, from the torments of humanity.  We come forth, asking for nothing, offering everything...offering ourself.  Who we are is because of His love: our actions stem from His gift of faith, our words mimic the wordless words He incessantly speaks, our growth nurtured by His gift of faith; we are a product of gifts accepted in love, transverse in faith.  It is the closeness of the Father which we seek, His closeness settles our soul, lifts us from depression while awakening our heart that we may see even in the darkness, that we may experience even when exhausted, that we may know even when in doubt.  It is to God we walk, for Him we act, act in love, with love that the stranger may know His touch and a soulmate recognize their pulse.  Closeness of faith Bart a not with the ego, it holds close the truths of the Father, experiencing such truths with actions of compassion.  We move as though life has no darkness for darkness is but the ego’s imagination projecting onto the world that we may live in fear, live with doubt, while maneuvering through the obstacles of stress and societal standards.  Moving forward, walking around, the darkness is explained as a point of reference, a moment of rest.  Instinctively we listen yet when we hear nothing it is the ego’s attempt at silencing the soul, perpetrating the fear of darkness.  Move we onward, toward the Father, gifted with love, knowing the truth of the soul; experience, we will, the tender touch, the warm embrace of the Father’s love with every step, with every commitment to His closeness.  To God we will become close when we surrender to His love, embracing His wordless words which speak of His promise to walk each moment, hand in hand with ours.  It is our acceptance of such a promise which invigorates our soul and invites us to know, to hear, to feel, the Father as His pulse syncs with our own.  It is in this closeness which we come alive...awaken, be close, be alive in the Spirit of Christ...breathe His love, act with compassion, surrender to this moment.  Are you willing to become close to the Father?
