The week has begun

The week has begun

What have you done

To show someone that you care

There are people who feel

That they just can't deal

With the happenings which we call life

Stand firm in your faith

Stand tall in your hope

And show someone they do matter

Take some time to be who you are

For the message of God is not far

As it dwells within your heart

The reason is clear

Of why you are here

To help others in need

So get up and move

Stand up and begin to live

A purpose-filled life

Today is the day

You must go out and say

Your life, my friend, has purpose

Walk with them for they are unsure

If they can, even once more

Near the weight of their cross

Pick up their burden

Make clear their path

That they may refocus their life

Today you purpose is clear

No longer must you fear

For your life enveloped in love

God has a plan

And you just the woman or man

To set this world afire

Get up and let's go

For the fires quickly extinguished

By the sadness and doubt of the heart

Those who live in their mind

They cannot find

A reason for God to care

The heart speaks with compassion

It need not ration

The love that they have yet to be

The greatness that is to be felt

The greatness that is to be lived

When life lie protected in the arms of God

Help others to see

The love they can be

Should they simply accept their heart

The knowledge they will gain

Will be always remain

Long after our bodies cease to exist

So take up your task

For this is the day

That God calls you to your feet

Be aware of your heart

For God set you apart

To bring others to Himself

A land not far away

Will be show to others this day

In the eyes of true believer

This your charge

This your task

You the believer others must see

Stand up, rise to your feet

This task you must complete

For others are drowning in their own lives

You are the lifesaver thrown that they may not drown

For as they walk they look not to the sky only the grown

Their hope is lost, asphyxiated by defeat

You their last chance

To see that life is love

Be the love they have lost

This week, it has begun

Jump out of bed and yes run

That others my find the joy you know

Share our God of peace and love

Instill in others He dwell in them and no just above

Show them their hearts

That they may know

The same love you have grown to depend upon

The love that awakes you by day

Love is the key

To set their minds free

And feel the love of the Father

Wrap them in love, swaddled them in peace and encompass them in wonder

That their lives be rich, that they will no plunder

For when they fall, God will catch their miss step

Set their minds free

Give them reason to seek

The God of love you know as truth

Awake, arise and know your calling

You must help others from falling

Falling into the pit of despair

Show you care, show that you know the dubious thoughts that haunt

The thoughts that mock and taunt

That make one crazed and confused

The mockings you remember

The doubts oh so real

Be the love of Christ which settles even the most calloused soul

Pretentious and haughty you may not be

For if you are others will not see

The Christ in your eyes so deep

Turn not your face for others need look

Others need see the love preached in a single book

Come alive in your actions

The Gospels you know that you may reap and sow

The words of Christ Himself

Love one another as I have love you.
