Impenetrable fortress
Stands tall and aloof
Walls intimidate
Though mortar begins to
crumble
The moat takes captives
Only to ransom souls
Weathered coupled with
lack of use and the drawbridge becomes incorrigible
Arrows fly from behind
the stone barricades
Yet wound not
For faith the
protective shield
Swap lands yet another
obstacle
The trek arduous
Muscles ache
Exhaustion sets in
The fortress looks
higher on the hill than before
Rest is only for the
downtrodden
Fortitude rejuvenates
Faith the unencumbered
armor
The warrior of God
Pursuant of evil
Deafening shrills
cannot penetrate the warrior heart
For a melody
continuously plays
Just as the lyre
soothed David's soul
This harmony the battle
cry of justice
It awakens the
spirit
Truth revealed
Truth sought after
Trudging through the
marsh
Arrows narrowly
miss
Fear and exhaustion but
a distant memory
The fortress within
reach
The picture painted
from afar pales in comparison to reality
Fortress walls
collapsing
The moat but a shallow
brook
A glass drawbridge
stained in fury
Feathered arrows the
weapon of choice
The mighty
fortress
A fictitious illusion
The scream of a
banshee
The walls crumble
Glass door shatters
Dust permeates the air
An encampment of God
warriors
The dust settles
The impervious,
grandiose fortress
Constructed to hold
hundreds
Houses only one
Perched on a throne as
if royalty
Evil radiates
The encampment too
powerful
Evil surrenders
Warriors of God prevail
The fortress thought
impenetrable
Thought mighty, without
flaws
Thought perfect in
possession and demeanor
The towering
fortress
An idiom at best
