Fear not who you are

Fear not who you are; fear only living who you are not.  Life which denies the true self is life in constant motion, propelled by fear and paralyzed by unsupported truths.  Petrified by the unknown, society seeks to temper doubts with its pedantic rambling of fabricated sanctions, universally accepted as the “norms” by which obligatory standards call for the surrender of one’s being.   Subjected to ridicule and mockery, it becomes easier to conform to such standards than it is to discover the beauty and truth of one’s being, the beauty and truth of life harvested in God.  To ensure submission to the rivaled heart, the mind gathers information only to produce masks to prevent the truth of self from surfacing.  Masked, we walk the streets, roam the mountains and wander the beaches in search of something to fill the void, this haunting need of gratifying acceptance. Carbon copies, drones of one another, we begin to hold contempt for life, itself, for, barred from the heart, life becomes a conglomeration of restless spirits delineated by bandwagon propaganda and logical fallacies.  In its attempt to abandon the heart, the mind fears not the abandonment of self for conformity its fixation and valor its opponent.  Never does the mind want to explore the dungeons caverns of the soul, never does it want to listen to a voice other than its own for surrender to the heart is still a surrender, still a defeat in the mind’s eye.  Surrender to the heart is never a battle lost only a battle won for the heart is God’s temple and place of existence that we may know love.  Deep within our soul God dwells, He lives, He longs for us to see, to feel, to listen that we may connect to His offerings of love, of peace and of joy.  Self truth captivates the heart, allowing God to speak, allowing God to live in each moment; these moments multiply into a lifetime, encompassed in love.  The discovery of God’s existence among our person brings about our transformation unto self by which we begin to live life in each moment, life in each blessing, life in God.  At the onset of this epiphany we feel lost, clouded by the mind for so long, we find it difficult to discern our direction and stand paralyzed by fear.  In this moment of fear two choices lies before us: blindly follow the cloudy path driven by the mind, a path followed for sometime without purpose, grounded in contempt or purposely follow the Son-lit path driven by the heart, a path seemingly unnoticed yet rich is color for it is fertilized with love.  A choice, free will…a blessing or a burden should the mind be permitted to control.  Walking, wandering until a lake is discovered and a reflection of a stranger stares back; yet the eyes have a familiarity, a sense of knowing, a sense of belonging.  As the layers of masks are shed, the eyes speak and love is felt; love envelopes our being that our journey to self may not be intimidating only inviting.  With each stride we feel a tug from the heart; with each reach we hear a gentle whisper, again, from the heart; with each pause we reflect upon our soul and quickly the stranger in the reflection now a trusted confidant.  The path of discovery is not the contested notion of the mind; the mind challenges the implementation of the discoveries.  Becoming one’s own person, shedding layers of commonality to express one’s individuality, this frightens the mind for the mind is a proponent of uncontested uniformity.
"Do what others do, the way they have always done it, no questions asked", this the mantra of the mind for free thought hinders its motives vested in the likes of the masses.  Labels of weird, strange or freak are often attached to those who break the code of conformity and follow the path of their heart.  Why do we fear this beat?  The rhythm of this beat is the rhythm of our soul and the heartbeat of God.  Infinitely connected, this beat quickly becomes our internal escape that we may retreat from the monotony of the mundane world to seek refuge in that which is eternal, that which is God.   To become a sanctuary unto ourselves we must reside in the heart and resist the haunting notions of the mind that we may not be cluttered by its distracting antics attempting to lure us from the reality of our bond with our Creator.  Beauty we are, peace we become in our acceptance of truth as we combat our fear of self with the healing power of unconditional love.  Fear not the heart for it speaks only loving words, words formulated in hope and sanctioned by a tender God who thinks so highly of His creation that we are crafted in His image and likeness.   In His image, we are love, we are peace, we are hope, we are faith, we are beauty, we are holiness; unobstructed by the mind, we stand to bring the world His love, His peace, His hope as our actions of faith guided by the beauty of our heart allowing a glimpse of that which is holy.  Granted the blessing of His likeness, we have the duty to become love for others affording them the unconditional love they will not afford themselves; we are challenged to call our neighbor brother and our enemy sister; strengthened with His grace we have the ability to mend a battered heart with a simple hug.  The power of self has no limits for limits exist only in the mind.  Limitless love forgives misunderstandings as it rests not on judgements and forges no ill will when it was not intended.  Peace, the promise of solace even in times of strife, keeps no score, no tally marks it makes for harmonious our soul when connected to the Father.  Fear lies not in who we are or what we have yet to become; fear lies in the ignorance of self.  Doubt and anxiety, though problematic, need not obstruct our discovery of self and in turn, our discovery of the reality of God.  Intimate our connection to this eternal being of love; intimate the beat of His heart resting in our soul.  Become who you are, become the blessings bestowed upon you, become the faith intrinsic to your soul.  You are as unique as each snowflake that falls to the ground; celebrate this uniqueness as only you can, celebrate God's craftsmanship as divinely inspired and beautifully designed in the person of you.  You have been given a gift of faith, choose to become this gift but choosing to live each moment with God.  I was once told, "God does not make junk", this thought has reminded with me for many, many years and to this I say, "Of course He doesn't make junk, He made you and he made me!"  Fear not who you are, fear only the mask of conformity intentionally or unintentionally crafted by the mind and let everyone know you by your actions of faith.  To be Christ in each moment, we must accept who we are in the eyes of God and fear not the criticism or ridicule of others for we know this mockery comes only from their own ignorance of self.  Cast aside your fear of celebrating your individuality and become the individual beauty that is so much needed in this world of monochromatic ideals.  Seek God, seek to feel His heartbeat, to hear His voice and in the recognition of self, all will become clear.  You are to be you, no one is better equipped to be you...wrap in the understanding of who you are because  you are fabulous, let this fabulousness run free as you become the love of God in this world.  Fear not who you are for you are amazing!
