Snowy Footprints

Footsteps turn into footprints

Footprint in the snow

Where once there were no tracks

Now there are many

Do we take the road not traveled

Or the road heavily traveled?

Making new tracks can be dangerous

Knowing not were to step can cause an avalanche

Snow could be deep, clothing become wet

Ice may lie on the surface causing challenging steps

Ice may lie under the snow making for slippery steps

The snow covered course could lead to a dead end

Still so many more reasons not to create our own path

Yet one persuasive reason in favor of a new path

A chance to fully experience life amidst purposed faith

God calls us to follow our faith, to live without fear

This snowy walk our chance to do just that

To follow not the consensus from others

A path not yet traveled

A path offering an opportunity to trust in the Lord

Trust in His words

Mimic His actions

This path, never traveled, beckons to be traveled

A dilemma it is not

Life it is

Life wrapped in the Father

This, our chance to explore the world

This, our chance to let faith lead

Gingerly we advance permitting fear to embark upon our journey

Yet fear is quickly dismissed for the heart speaks in the silence of the snow

The soul gravitates toward love

Knowing not the path, we walk, without fear

We walk with confidence for the heart speaks

Wordless words echo throughout the snowy path

Peace is created

Love is created

Hope is experienced

The journey is purposed in faith

Each step is taken in anticipation of the Father

Smiles accompany the trek as the heart is filled with love

The sun gently breaks through the trees offering warmth

Yet warmth is not all that it offers

The sun offers guidance, direction

Paths of gratitude, gentleness, compassion, and empathy mark our trek

With each pass we learn our purpose

We embrace our moment

We choose our next step

Chosen with purpose we move with Christ

Wisdom pronounces our name and we move in turn with God

On bended knee we give thanks for this trek

On bended knee we accept a resolve to trust

Trust in our God

It was in the stillness we heard

Now, in this same stillness, we act

For though our path was once untraveled

Our footprints are left behind for others to see

Some follow and now many tracks are along this path

Friendship ensues

Life visible among purpose

Gentle our words

Followed by compassionate actions

For we have learned to empathize with our neighbor

Learned to feel without rationalizing emotion

The steps taken in silence has earned us a wholeness

A completeness in Christ

Resolved to experience the world, we make our tracks

Tracks made in peace amount to love

We become this love among the now falling snow

New tracks must be forged

Tracks now to serve, deliver love, bring freedom, end loneliness

This now our purpose

This now our chance

Serve, deliver, bring, end

Tomorrow it will be give, surrender, embrace and find

Each day brings with it opportunity

What opportunity does today offer?

Will we trust enough to make our own tracks?

Tracks that others will follow for they were forged by faith

Faith will lead us down many venues

This venues leaves footprints

Are we willing to leave prints that others, too, may find love

That others, too, may hear the Father’s call and fear not a response?

Respond in step with faith

In step with love

Step

Make a track

Trust in the Lord

Walk in faith

Walk that others may follow and find the Father’s love

Purposed to live in accordance with His will

Purposed we are to respond in faith

One step, then the next

Trust in the trail that faith provides

Walk and fear not the direction

Maintain the course of faith

Respond to the heart with the soul

And make the world trails of love

Trails of compassion

Trails of learned individuals experiencing the Father here and now

Here and now in the silence

The beauty

The magnitude of diligent prayer

Prayer taken with each step

Marked upon the heart as faith

Marked upon the earth as trust

The snow it falls, now is your chance
