We have Christmas

And now we have Christmas

A year has flown bye

The lights on the tree glow wild

While the cookies they bake

Lists are made

Checked twice 

Desires present, sought for the nice

We give to those who have not

Yet do we really think of their situation

Or is this just the habitual time to give?

And now we have Christmas

The lights all a glow

The gatherings are many

The stresses are more

Food is prepared

Movies are chosen

The songs they play take us back to a younger day

But what is this Christmas time about?

And now we have Christmas

At least Christ remains

For this is our blessing

Our moment of remembrance

The birth of a tiny baby

Without all the frills

Yet He came to love

To be the love we missed

And now, this Christmas, we look deep into faith

The hope surmounted by this Child

The love sown upon the world

This is Christmas...

And now we have Christmas

The moment has come

To look within the heart

To see where we stand

Worthy are we in the eyes of the Father

Worthy are we to live as His children

Yet act, we must, as faith-filled beings

Ready to act with compassion and kindness

Not because it is Christmas but because it is our purpose

What a better way to celebrate the life of this tiny Child?

And now we have Christmas

All gathered around

To drink and to eat, yes

But maybe to pray

To bring together the hearts

Of those who believe

Believe in the Father

And His promises of love

The bonding of the soul

Awakens the heart that we may see, even in the dark

And now we have Christmas

A gathering of love

A celebration of the Father, above

He gave us His Son, that we may learn

Just how to love and live with concern

Our neighbor our friend

Our friend our family

Living as one, with Christmas glee

Faith our guide to the love we share

Giving gifts self and love

And now we have Christmas

With the new fallen snow

A new beginning from all we have been through

Faith our target, faith our rod

It is that which we lean on

To bring us home to our God

And now on bended knee

We give thanks for this moment

A moment of Christmas 

A moment of silence 

To center our minds to give way to the heart

Our truest Christmas present

And now we have Christmas

The trimmings all ready

Our heart’s prepared to see

The soul speaks with fervor

The mind tempered, the stress forgotten

For the reason for this season remember in four simple words

‘Emmanuel, God with us’

Here, in this moment, God is present

God is loving

Here, in this moment, we are present

We are charged to love 

And now we have Christmas

It’s true meaning discovered

Emmanuel, Emmanuel

We are here with You

Our hearts open

Our minds closed

That we may hear your call

And answer in love, driven by faith

And now we have Christmas

Will Christ forever remain in our Christmas?

And now we have Christmas

And what will we do?
