Morning Has Broken

Morning breaks, the world awakened by the sun, its rays warming the world, inspiring living. While we prepare for the day we rush about in an attempt to prepare for the day. Breakfast inhaled, lunches packed, reports complete and out the door. The chaos of the morning compares not to the chaos encountered through the day.   Traffic, misplaced assignments, calls, texts, deadlines, new deadlines; the day is filled with chaos, filled with reasons to stop. And yet stop we never do, stop declares weakness and we, as humans, must never show weakness. We banter on, we trudge through the muck, we make orange juice from lemons for quitting is not a viable option.  The day progress and more chaos ensues; here, there, everywhere, much of our movement is mindless as the programming of the ego sets for us the direction in which we move. Dismissed from our daily chaos, we move into the second phase of chaos, attempting normalcy.  Yet, isn’t chaos the norm?  More traffic, dates to be kept as we constantly watch the ticking of the clock. Sometimes it seems as the hands are in constant motion, from one to five on one felt motion. Tiredness sets in, controlling  more than our action, controlling, too, our mood. The attitude with which we present our person is the attitude with which we leave with another. Tired, stressed, agitated these forge their way into action those in its path bewildered, questioning which direction is up. Thus our attitude taints our action creating for us much chaos. Chaos in our waking moments, chaos overtaking our moments of rest. Soon a new day arises, still in the wake of chaos and less rested we wake for another day yet which foot will we put forward: the ego or the heart?  What if as the morning awoke we paused, not out of weakness, but rather out of reverence, stemming from humility?  The day of chaos awaits yet our heart knows peace, our soul knows love and, in our humanity, we know imperfection. Let us awake with hope, awake on bended knee that we may pause to let the Father into our day, into our life, transforming chaos into opportunity.  This morning awakes and we are given the opportunity to love, to gather close to the Father, to act with compassion, to forgive with kindness, to alter the ego’s chaos with love.  Love can heal, it can awaken, it can see for love knows the Father and proceeds with understanding. And so we stop, we stop in this moment that we may gather our graces, that we may visit the Father and ask for His hand throughout the day for His hand turns troubled chaos into peaceful resiliency.  A pregnant pause of thanksgiving, of gratitude, asking for assistance, asking for clarity...a simple pause, to listen, to hear, to be.  Morning breaks, the world awakened by the Son, His compassion warming the world, inspiring purpose.  We are His purpose, we are His love. Morning has broken, the day has begun, how will the day progress?  Will the chaos be too much to bear or will that moment of prayer, a pregnant pause, claim the chaos and invite peace inspired by a loving and compassionate attitude marked by faith and endured by love?  Morning is here...run or stop?
