Gifts from the Master
To each was granted special gifts, according to their ability with the intent that they be used, with that the master departed. The world developed; the land cultivated, towers they adorn the city scape and the seas are filled with cargo moving from port to port. Scientific discoveries perplex the mind, challenging even the most versed researchers. An epic battle brews. Theologians surmise reliance upon a creator, labeled creator God, while others project theories of evolution and the creation of something from nothing. All the while lands moved, divisions became continents and people settled. The land worked that people may feed their bodies and for some, nourish the soul. Arguments incited animosity while bringing about hard feelings and ill will. The earth moved for the people moved. Disconnected, many lived and still live under the guise that this world is all we have for this is our reality; what we see is what is real, the unseen becomes the unknown, a simple figment of the imagination and certainly not reality. Time is spent looking for answers, searching for solutions, cures for that which ails the physical body. Overlooking the cause, we search for answers down every avenue, across every mile though the answer often lies in the cause. We save church for Sundays, discussions on matters of faith are left for leaders of the church with whom we blindly follow like sheep going to the slaughter. The world asks not for as bitter fight, it asks not for controversial discoveries, what it asks for is attention; that which cannot be seen, only felt or that which can be seen and felt. Each morning the world, too, awakens, it brings with it a new beginning, a new chance to awaken in the Father's love, awaken in the very arms of God if we but experience His reality. The master, upon granting selected gifts, never left; though hidden from site He did not hide, we ignored. We failed to see the mater before our eyes for we failed to open, let alone use, the carefully crafted gifts presented to each individual person. Some gifts were used for a moment then placed away for safe keeping, others buried from the onset that robbers may not steal the precious gift. Funny, the gifts recognized as precious yet wasted for the collection of dirty and dust renders them unwanted less we dirty ourselves in the process. Those who chose to use their gifts discovered joy, they discovered peace and, in the process, discovered new gifts which they, too, cultivated and made their own. This select group worried not about the return of the master for they knew he never left, they found Him walking among the crowd ready to gather for services; they discovered Him in the depths of the forest waiting for the morning sun; they spoke with Him over coffee questioning life itself, gathering research for the discovery of reality. Never losing a beat, they marched with the master for the symphony of their heart played while the work of the soul continued to gather information about the reality of the master, the reality of life, the reality of truth. And so life continued, some people lived in darkness unsure of their next move only knowing it to be a struggle. Others, the entrepreneurs of graceful gifts, walked in the light for they never turned their back toward the sun. Jealousy raged and wars were waged, the culprit, ignorance. Learned members of society we have become; education a priority for most though it is simply an education of the mind not the heart which holds the key to truth, to reality. The gifts granted by the master, when used, support our life of promise. Promised love, we experience unconditional love; promised hope, we worry not about the gains of this life for we understand the truths of the reality of our soul; promised life we live not for today but for ever as we strengthen our connection with God, as we learn our purpose of tomorrow. Though the gifts were free, they come at a price, our salvation as granted to us by Christ on the cross. Expressions of love we become with each gift used for we have sought God and He has been found in the depths of the oceans and the smile of a stranger; we have knocked upon the doors of faith, once opened we discovered we were inside waiting to explore the world and so we stepped out living faith not just studying faith; we asked for help deciphering each gift and to us strength and wisdom was granted that we may become craftsmen of our own lives. This journey embarked upon in faith became a journey many looked upon with contempt for eyes of jealousy and slothful hands possessed their beings petrifying the heart, permitting the mind to manipulate and mandate their reactions. Reactions they were for their guise of satisfaction and contentment with their own lives was a worn mask, passed down from another with cracks and chips, fear perpetrated reactions in hopes that the masks never to be discovered by another. Hence, the epic battle began with fits of jealousy and rage; wanting what another had never realizing the possessions of such gifts were not for a selected few. The battle rages on...reality, a dichotomy of thoughts becomes the ammunition and, without reflection, it cuts through tempered discourses exposing truth. Whose truth? The truth of God, His promises, His reality or the truth as rendered in parliamentary passages of human invented law? Should we open our gifts and attempt to use them, the answer is clear, God's reality becomes our reality by which we strive to become whole for we find our connection with our Creator of love. Disconnection breeds animosity which festers hatred and contempt all leading to the cause of the epic battle. Slowly we turn, slowly we rise, slowly we see the light of our reality all wrapped in our individual gifts of grace as they become the foundation of our lives, our armor affording us the win in each battle. Though blood be shed, life itself won in the cry of each prayer requesting God's presence, requesting God's strength for it is discovered in our gifts. Battles continue, they will continue until the end of time, the question remains, which side will you be on?
