Where is Christ in this moment? Don't let moments pass without seeing Christ or feeling His presence. These little moments add up to a lifetime of moments, a lifetime of comprehension. To understand we are not alone is to seize the opportunity to see Christ in each moment, to recognize His presence, His love in our every move, our every choice. To know with certainty Christ's love is to accept, without a doubt, the confessions of heart, listen closely:
Today I heard Christ in the giggles of a child, so innocent, so free. She laughed, within seconds, I found myself laughing; I found myself without worry, stripped of my need to micromanage. There I stood laughing and listening. I heard love, I know that sounds weird but I heard it in her laughter, I saw it on her face, and I felt it in my soul. I never thought could hear love. In this moment I was made whole, I was complete, I comprehended the totality of love. Love is not a fight, it is not a mockery of the choices of others, it is not an passive existence. Love is the core of my person, unleashed in the simplicity of laughter. In this moment I felt my presence of something grand, something beyond the limitations of humanity; my presence was certified in love without knows no bounds, knows only commitment. Yes, today I heard love...what did you hear!
Today I saw Christ in the moment paperwork came across my desk. There, stuck to an invoice, was a sticky note which read, "Hey, that's for doing your job, have a great day! 😃". It was a simple scribble yet it was a scribble which made me stop for a moment and look. I surveyed my office, while some people stared at their computers, others were engaged in conversation, it was these conversations in which I took interest. Human interaction exists not upon the words spoken but rather the conquest of the heart, the connection of the soul. A hand on the shoulder in recognition of condolences; a soft touch on the forearm to say one's voice was heard; a tender embrace to take away the pains of the day...human interaction stems far beyond that of the ego, far beyond that of words. I can see Christ in the interaction of souls, souls which speak without words, they speak in actions of the heart. Pause for a moment and see...
Today I felt the presence of Christ. Traffic was backed up and my frustration levels dangerously high for, of course, my calendar on my phone reminded me that I was late. As I sat watching cars weave in and out of traffic only to gain two feet, I decided to stay in my lane and just wait. The sun was setting and a cool breeze came through my open car window. The clarity if the sunset was amazing, the pinkish hues only second to the brilliance of the orange ball sinking into the sky. I was transported to my youth, the first time I saw the sun set while on vacation at the beach. I felt warm, I felt a part of something more than the run of the mill moments. The magnificence of the sunset fulfilled my wish as a youth of understanding presence, a presence I was reminded of while stuck in traffic. Greater than my humanity is the opportunity to partake in God's reality, partake in God's unconditional love. Resources to partake in such love, to comprehend such a reality are never ending yet I get so wrapped up in moments as they appear on the surface I others forget that each moment, itself, is wrapped in love, wrapped in a sense of belonging, a belonging to something other than the physical. Each moment contains an opportunity to comprehend that which the ego will never comprehend, and that is a fulfillment of the presence; an understanding of life pieced together via actions of love, acts of faith, and moments of clarity. Today I felt the presence of Christ, pause for a moment, be in the moment, what do you feel?
The heart hears, sees and feels the presence of Christ in each moment, now comes the point in which the ego will strive to suppress such clarity of the heart in fear of losing control. Control is supercilious at best for control is but a folklore spoken by the ego to keep actions and thoughts in check. Check nothing, be in the moment, hear Christ in the laughter of a child, the ding of an alarm or the 'I love you' from a friend. See Christ in a random note, the beauty of a sunset or the smile of a stranger. Feel Christ the unending traffic, the cool breeze kissing your cheeks, the embrace from a loved one. Each moment that passes is an opportunity to validate your heart, to comprehend its knowledge without strain, without doubt. Be part of each moment, let not the moments pass without hearing, seeing or feeling; be in each moment, be in each moment with Christ. Be in the moment and the next time you are posed with the question of 'Where is Christ in this moment' your answer will know no pause only inflection and connection. Meet Christ in this moment and this moment will never end.
