One Week

We are here, attempting to live among the rubble created by entitlement, greed and deceit.  Though this the “norm” of our times, the heart knows a very different norm and calls us to revert our thinking.  Born into the family of God, we know joy, we know peace, we know hope for we are love, we are beauty even though our humanity hides these truths.  The realization of such truths comes from our dedication to listening, to being with the Father this moment, in the next moment.  The effort we put forth into prayer is compounded by the Father’s love.  Let’s be real, there are times we half-heartedly speak with God, or actually to God because we don’t even make the effort to listen for a response.  God knows our heart, He understands our shortcomings, He feels our pain, our fear and yet He responds unconditional love.  He overwhelms us and sometimes we back away because we don’t feel worthy of such conditionless love.  So much time is spent on the here and now, worrying about how others will react to our actions that we forget about our true disposition of love, our connection with the Father.  Let’s try, for just a week, to put aside actual time to be with God; to listen, to be still to connect without words, to understand His presence in our daily lives.  One week, no distractions just us and the Father.  We take time for fad diets or new Netflix releases, why not take one week to give ourselves, all of ourselves to God?  Let us see what a different a week will make.
