Message in a Bottle

There, floating in the waves, was a corked bottle.  After several waves crashed along the shore, the bottle gently lands in the sand.  A curious onlooker picks up the bottle only to find a scrolled paper inside with faded writing; only a couple of words could be read: “Find...and...know...This is the...Be...”.  The excitement of the find quickly turned to disappointment when the message was incomplete.  Not wanting to leave the glass bottle on the beach, the onlooker put it into her bag and went about her day, thinking nothing more of the fractured message.  After dinner, as she was readying her bag for the next morning, the woman found the bottle with the partial message.  Curiosity, again, got the best of her as she reread the note inside of the bottle: “Find...and...know...This is the...Be...”.  What could this mean?  Why had part of the message be faded and torn?  She threw the bottle away but put the slip of paper with her books and never gave it a second thought until, a week before the start of school, the note came falling out of one of her books: “Find...and...know...This is the...Be...”.  Intrigued, she typed the fragmented words into a search hoping to find something, anything but the search came up empty.  She decided to turn it into a writing assignment for her students, they were to incorporate this words into a dramatic writing.  Some of the submissions were funny, others intriguing but one stood out: “Find, what it is that I need to find?  God is by my side, God walks with me always but yet I find that sometimes I need to find my way for I feel lost, I feel overwhelmed by that which we call life and yet I know that God with me.  And still I wonder, still I wander yet not very far because love pulls me back.  And I know that each road which I journey is a road lit by faith, my heart will not know darkness, it knows only pure love.  This is the me I am suppose to be, I am who I am because God took time to love me and now is my chance to she Him how much I love Him.  This day, this moment, I will be love, I will act with love, that others, too, may know love, may be freed from the anxiety created in humanity.  Is there a chance for such love?  The heart answers yes.  Be who I am.  I will be who I am for I am a reflection of the Father, His love is in me as I am in Him.  Find love and know the Father.  This is the purpose of faith. Be made whole.”  Inspired by the writing of her student, the teacher went home a wrote her own story from the fragmented message she found on the beach.

A fragmented message, what is it saying to you?  “Find...and...know...This is the...Be...”  What is your heart trying to tell you?
