In This World

Here in our world, new voices screaming

Telling us this, telling us that

Shaking us to our core

We don’t know what is exactly the truth

This is the time, this is the place

We must start a new race

For here in this world

That which we knew is questioned each time and

Faith is abandoned here in this place

What do we do, we react or we listen

Do we hear the voice of our God

He speaks among all the screaming

Calm and collected, calling us back

This now our choice to ignore all the chaos

To abandon the notion that God is not here

But in doing so we create such a ruckus

Are we willing to stand for our God

Today is a choice, a choice we must partake in

A choice of love or of doubt

Our patience worn thin, our minds all a clutter

The shouting has taken its toll

But deep down inside, the Father is speaking

Telling us He can make all whole

Love has been questioned, faith, too, is doubted in fear

That which we hear are words not certain

Words which tend to question our heart

So here we are a choice now before us

Is it chaos we peruse or love that we know

With God standing with us, when then shall we fear?

Doubts aside, for love His constant

Love makes us whole that we may now thrive

We become one in communion of faith

We become one in truth and in trust

God, our constant; God is our hope

And now before us destiny calls forth

What then to choose, where then to go?

The Father so tenderly calls out our name

How we respond will temper our person

How we react will set forth our fate

God is our love, He is our purpose

He knows our heart better than us

Follow Him and we will remain love

We will be purposed in faith

So must we walk a path all alone

The path dimly lit and not yet worn

Fear not we are are never alone

God is here, He has taken our hand

Lit our way with faith and with hope

It is with each step we grow strong

We take from each moment its truth

God is here, we aren’t alone

God is here, we are His love

Our faith, our place, our action, our moment

Given to us that we become whole

Whole in love, whole in hope now

We have learned to ignore

The chatter, the chaos, the hate-filled banter

We have learned to listen to God

His words, His words of wisdom

Calling us home that we may now live

Love is our truth, faith our purpose

All because we ignored the calamity of the world
