Dear Santa-
Another year of lights and trees; another year of stockings and presents; another year of requests and wants. We overlook the needs, we do not see the hurt, we are unable to let go of the past; unwilling to clear our minds. The memories we have made, the memories we share, may they be our moments, our vision, and our purpose for we have become a lost people; lost among insignificant moments, lost among the pride-filled fables we conceded as prudent, yet restrictive means of self identification. Who we are is not linked to our material possessions nor to our position on the proverbial social ladder. We are who we are in Christ, who we are in the Father, how we accept the Spirit and our willingness to open our hearts to be discovered in love. Love, the lifeline of our person; love our reason for breath; love without condition, without judgment; love...our hand safely placed in that of the Father’s hand. Santa, this Christmas all we need, all we want, all we desire is love. The Father has so graciously offered to us His love, this His gift, not wrapped under the tree but rather, wrapping our being, our person, holding us close, offering protecting, offering life. Each gift wrapped this Christmas, may it be wrapped in unconditional love that the true Spirit of Christmas may, nice again, guide our choices, guide our thoughts, and become our purpose. Dear Santa, together we can make this happen.
Sincerely-
Danielle
