Stare back

Looking out into the world and faith stares back

The world our prize but faith our life

Options before us

Questions within us

Doubts around us

Do we see what we believe

Or believe what we see?

Filled with hesitation, our movements slow

Sometimes haphazard

Sometimes deliberate

Chaos in all directions

Peace within

Peace a moment

Peace the option of God

He shouts out our name

A response not always certain

For, within life, distractions support distance

Lost within a fabricated world

The voice of the heart becomes muffled

Causing us to forget our name

Causing us to become followers without conviction

Movement our calamity

We fall under a weight of a suggestive world

Self inflicted scars keep us hidden in the shadows

Keep us questioning our heart

Doubting our faith

On a quest for truth we search

How hard do we really look?

Isn’t it easier to become a dutiful participant of the world?

Rationalize options?

Criticizing the heart?

In the midst of the chaos, God still calls

God still loves, He offers a path

Love illuminates the way

Silence centers

The wrecking ball of doubt unleashed

Crashing into the rock of faith

Without a scratch, faith the victor

Purpose restored

Faith relied upon

God seen

Revealed as omnipresent and eternally loving

The chaos, the distractions, the noise of the world

May become over bearing

But with faith our life ad God our partner

A retreat into the silence a rejuvenating option

Struggles are real yet so is God’s love

When we fall, we fall into His arms

Fall into His love

That the world become our prize

A prize of opportunity

A prize of awareness

A prize rendered in love

Faith will show us the way

We need only be willing to follow

Look out into the world, what stares back?
