Just Float

With the high and lows our society conjures for itself, it seems our attention to morals and values is questionable and with it our commitment to modeling the image of Christ. So much chatter among protest and arguments where is the love?  Where is the kindness? Where is the compassion, the empathy, the respect?  And irritable world plagued by narcissism, parsimoniously we take to the streets blinded by wants discounting needs and capitalizing upon emotion. Egotistically, we vet the future as ours and only ours, aligning each step within the boundaries of self preservation and omniscient thoughts; grandeur our vision and inferiority our greatest fear. Disagreements ensue creating waves of resentment, hatred and revenge; waves which claim many a casualty; need we be next?  Purpose last amount causality, relying on the voices of others for movement and aspiration; communally we may stand but independently we know for the voice of God our harmony, our inspiration, our reality. The chatter, the screaming has become too loud, our vision blurred by the non-realities disguised as dire importance; our daily doses of deception confuse our purpose as reality is confused with the moments of now. Our reality is love; our reality is compassion; our reality is togetherness for the Father is the truth of our reality, the breath of our existence. The waves have claimed many a victim, instead of grabbing life vests, many chose weighted vests; their own demise at the hand of egotism, of hatred, of entitlement.  With such weighs upon the chest in a sea of unfathomed complexities, only one solution is presented...God. God who has shown us love without condition, hope without question, peace without anxiety, a d freedom without chains. Though with the fight of each wave the exhaustion may seem unbearable, we need only turn over on our backs and float for our faith is our life vest.  This is not to say it will be a relaxing ride, we will take in water, we will be rolled by the waves, maybe even sustain cuts and scrapes along the coral but we will survive, we will thrive if only we accept and attempt to duplicate the Father’s love. If we do not stand for the Father’s love, then for what do we stand?  If we are not purposed in love, purposed in hope, purposed by faith then by what are we purposed: egotism, hatred, entitlement?  Let us pause, let us float on top of the rough waters, take in the Son, let His rays warm our bodies and take from us the chill perpetuated by immoral ideals and agenda fed decisions. Nothing is more important than our relationship with the Father. Pause, faith will keep us afloat if we allow it to take from us the weights we have placed upon our own shoulders. Trust...God is present.
